Here recently I've been going to Gennesse Community College with my boyfriend every Monday night from 6pm to 10pm. I normally sit in the cafeteria and work on Josh's laptop. While I' m there, a lot people walk by me , and then occasionally you see these people that think that they are so cool because they can BLARE their music as high as they want because guess what? It's college! Going to college with Joshua every Monday and sometimes other days opens my eyes up to many different people and how college is really going to be. Even though i do not go to class there, it still gives me experience. Let me tell you a little about college (for those of you that are seniors and are kind of wondering what it is like.) College is a lot different from high school. You don't have people telling you what you can and cannot do, teachers are not on your back to study and do homework (if you do it fine, and if you don't fine) teachers really don't care about you because either way their getting paid. [It really is like what high school teachers preach about, however there are a few things that they are wrong about.] Not all colleges are party city, some teachers put notes on the board, and a few don't give a lot of homework. There are MANY things that are different things about college then high school. For instance the internet. There's no blocked websites, you can go on myspace, facebook, and play any game that you want. They don't care! Another thing that is different is that teachers will let you out of their class early, there not made to make you stay in class for a specific amount of time. Now your probably wondering, how does she know all of this, she doesn't go to college?!? Well my friends, it pays to have a boyfriend in college, and its an added bonus when you live with him too. So I hear all the stories about college, so I know! LOL. Something else that is different, is that you ARE allowed to take your own personalized laptop into school with you.
Sometimes you may hear at college people are more mature. Well, in some cases yes, in most no. While I'm sitting in the cafeteria there is this group of girls and sometimes a few different boys but mainly the four girls that sit at the same table every time I'm there. They run around and throw stuff at each other, say cuss words in every sentence, talk about smoking and drinking and are SO loud you can hear them at the other end of the cafeteria. Mind you, the cafeteria is HUGE and you can still hear them. They run at every boy in the cafeteria, and get this, they have some man write their papers for them. Thats right, some weird old creepy dude with long hair sits at the table next to them and writes their papers for them. They give him the books and tell him what they need and he writes the paper for them!!!! It sounds crazy but its sickly true. Other than that GCC is pretty cool. There are some nice people there, and most are there to actually study and not goof off but there are the occassional few who don't give a flip.

Are you thinking about going to GCC? Well, since it is a community college it is only a 2 year degree. If you are going for something more you will have to get your 2 year degree there and then transfer out. They offer just about everything that you would need for any degree that you are going into. Let me paint a visual picture for you because i couldn't find any pictures online to show you in the inside of GCC. The Cafeteria is huge, along the right hand side of the cafeteria there is like 6 coke(pop) machines plus a coffee machine. There is tables galore and tvs and computers. Off to the right there is a student lounge where u can play pool, or play table tennis. The library is huge with computers and personal little stations where you can set up and get on you laptop, there also tables for you do studies on. There are about 3 floors to the whole college, and a pretty big gym. Theres a computer lab, and many more things that I probably haven't seen yet.
Over all the whole college thing is pretty cool. If you're really considering going to a community college i would suggest going to GCC. The atmosphere is nice and the people are nice.

yeah, college and high school are much different and if you need structure, you might have a little trouble in college. however, you never get rid of the high school drama that we all want so badly to leave behind. it is part of life and it never goes away.
blaring musics fun
gcc is a big college that provides good degrees and has an excellent enviroment for work!
Hey! I go to school there. And you always come with me!
Wow. Its low that some people have to hire an old man to do their papers! And these people that graduate are called professionals in the world?
